Our vision is Jesus. It’s as simple as that.And our purpose is both to know Him and to show Him. Being Christian is far more than espousing a set of beliefs, attending religious services or embracing the teachings of a historical figure.Jesus Christ is alive and well, and enjoying an authentic relationship with Him is our great calling, privilege and joy! And as we look into our future..? We see more of Jesus! We see ourselves and many others both experiencing and expressing ever-increasing dimensions of His love, truth and life!
The distinct DNA and values of our church stem largely from embracing what the Scriptures teach regarding identity. After all, it is on the rock-solid revelation of identity (both His and ours) that Jesus said; “I will build My Church!” In this way, dedication to our values is not an externally imposed commitment, but a natural response from an internal conviction, concerning who we are and whose we are. Our core values include things such as creativity, excellence, authenticity, servant-hearted leadership, the supernatural, apostolic and prophetic partnership, honour, truth, care and relationship.
Birthed in 2002, Bayside began as a small group of families meeting in a High School drama room. Today we are one of the largest Christian churches in the Fleurieu region, with a permanent home-base in one of Victor Harbor’s industrial estates. Over the years Bayside has enjoyed consistent growth in the size of our congregation, the strength of our reputation, and the scope of our services. Our influence is also increasingly global, through both our expanding media ministry and travelling teams. Our logo depicts the historical and picturesque ‘Encounter Bay’, an iconic landmark of our beautiful region.
Chad & Jaye Mansbridge were the pioneering leaders of Bayside, ordained at just 23 years of age. They pastored Bayside church for 20 years then in June 2022, handed over to Caleb and Brooke Wheatley. In 2010 Chad published his first book “He Qualifies You!”, and soon after founded i5812 Ministries in order to support the growing demand for their ministry worldwide.Both are regularly invited to speak at schools, churches and conference events throughout Australia and overseas.
